Fair Oaks Farms is so cool. They have a birthing barn where they bring the moms about to deliver. They have it set up so that you can go in and watch a cow being born. None of us had ever seen this and it was amazing. I found myself rooting for this Momma cow.
This could not have been comfortable.
It's a girl! There were four boys and two girls born that day. Right after she came out Sophie turns to me and says, "Let's go get some ice cream!". The lady next to me said "well at least she didn't say, "let's go get a hamburger!". :)
This part amazed me. She just delivered and 80lb calf and she stood up within 30 seconds to start licking her calf. Oh we have it so good in that hospital with everyone at our beckon call!
